The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
